Welcome to Keel. These terms explain the rules for using the app. By using Keel, you agree to them. Please read the section on financial information carefully — it's the most important one.

Who we are

Keel is operated by Ng Qi Heng, an individual developer based in Malaysia ("we", "us", "Keel"). Contact: hello@get-keel.app.

What Keel is

Keel is a personal tool that helps you track and understand your own debts, subscriptions, and financial commitments, and offers an optional AI Coach that gives general, educational guidance about your situation.

The AI Coach

The AI Coach generates responses using an AI model (Google's Gemini). You should know:

• AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong. Use your own judgement before acting on anything it says.
• The Coach gives general educational guidance based on the information you've entered — it does not know your full circumstances and cannot account for everything.
• The Coach is not a licensed financial adviser, and its responses are not professional financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice.
• You are responsible for any decisions you make. We are not liable for outcomes resulting from reliance on the Coach or the app.

If you are in financial difficulty, we encourage you to contact AKPK (Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit), Malaysia's free government credit-counselling agency, or another qualified professional.

Your responsibilities

• The accuracy of the information in Keel depends on what you enter and keep up to date. Keel cannot see your real accounts and relies entirely on your input.
• You agree to use Keel only for lawful, personal purposes.
• You agree not to misuse, attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its supporting services.

Subscriptions

• Keel offers an optional auto-renewing premium subscription (monthly or annual), purchased through the Apple App Store.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings. Pricing is shown in the app before purchase.
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to its policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.

Your data

Your financial data is stored locally on your device. How we handle the limited data that leaves your device (the sanitised AI snapshot and subscription information) is described in our Privacy Policy.

No warranty

Keel is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculation, score, or suggestion is accurate or suitable for your circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Keel and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any financial loss, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app or reliance on its content, including the AI Coach. Your use of Keel is at your own discretion and risk.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the date above, and continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. We may also update, change, or discontinue features of the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
